Ahead of the new academic year, the Al-Amin junior high in Mojokerto held an anti-bullying seminar for its new students. It formed part of their introduction to life in the school and the dormitory.
The speaker set out the forms bullying takes, what it does to those on the receiving end, and the steps a student can take on encountering or experiencing it. Participants also worked through simple case studies together.
The school restated its commitment to a learning environment that is safe and welcoming. Students are urged to report anything improper to their class teacher, a dormitory supervisor, or the counselling teacher.
